Sausage and Shrimp Skillet and Thai Turkey Burgers. The Sausage and Shrimp Skill…

Sausage and Shrimp Skillet and Thai Turkey Burgers.

The Thai Turkey Burger recipe is one of my visual favorites. It’s full of color and it photographs wonderfully. The visual aspect of eating is something I think is especially important for meal prepping. When you are eating the same thing every day for a week it helps to put a nice plate of food in front of you. Taking a bit of extra time to make the presentation of your food look pretty might help with adherence. Many of us eat with our eyes first. If something looks visually appealing our brains are already preparing for it to taste good. It’s hard for me to get excited looking at plain chicken, rice, and broccoli. Luckily people realize meal prep doesn’t have to be plain in 2019. It’s crazy to see how meal prepping has changed since I started this page. Meal prepping used to be 90% boring, unappealing food. ⁣

Scroll to December 18 to see a video for how to make the Shrimp and Sausage Skillet. As stated earlier, the recipe is on my website. Anytime I post a recipe with sausage some ass clown will comment and say something like “Sausage? Really? Have fun with your cancer. Keep promoting processed meats! #unfollowing” These people are so unbelievable to me. Don’t let them scare you. Eating processed meats every once in a while is okay. Yes it’s true that processed food increases cancer risk. Should processed meats be eaten in moderation? Surely. But what the fear mongers fail to tell you is what the data actually says. The overall risk of developing colon cancer is 5%. If you eat 50g of processed meat a day that risk increases to 6%. So it does increase your risk but it’s not nearly what many will lead you to believe. I’m not saying you should eat processed meats every day. I’m saying that making a meal with some sausage in it once every couple of months probably isn’t going to hurt you. Life enjoyment matters too and sausage tastes good. ⁣
