Because sausage is precooked all you have to do is throw it in a pan to give it some color and cook the rice. The rest can cook in the microwave upon reheating. Depending on my goals/training I either use turkey sausage or traditional to meet my calorie needs. Processed meats aren’t the healthiest to eat all of the time but it’s fine every once in a while and when you are in a time crunch this is a great meal to choose. One thing that helps to combat the negatives of processed meat is to eat it with vegetables. Vegetables have antioxidants to assist in combating the negative parts of sausage. .

Sausage with rice and beans is almost a perfect combination. It is hyperpalatable and filling. If you have access to Brazilian Calabresa I would swap it for the kielbasa. It is a slightly different flavor as a pork sausage flavored with garlic and paprika!
