Weight Loss vs Weight Gain with Jalapeño Apple Sweet Potato Hash with Ham and Eggs.⠀

Here is the normal recipe not adjusted for weight loss or weight gain:⁣⠀
⁣⠀
INGREDIENTS ⁣⠀
Makes 5 servings ⁣⠀
10 eggs⁣⠀
1 lb ham steak⁣⠀
2 medium sweet potatoes (~450g total)⁣⠀
1-2 jalapeños depending on spice preference ⁣⠀
1 red pepper⁣⠀
1/2 sweet onion⁣⠀
1 golden delicious apple⁣⠀
1.5 tbsp olive oil⁣⠀
Salt and pepper to taste⁣⠀
⁣⠀
PREPARATION ⁣⠀
1. Preheat oven to 425F⁣⠀
2. Hard boil 10 eggs. ⁣⠀
3. Cut potatoes into a medium dice. Toss in 1 tbsp of olive oil and bake for 20 min. Flip 1/2 way. ⁣⠀
4. Cut the onion and red pepper into a small dice. Cut the jalapeño into slices. And sauté in 1/2 tbsp oil. ⁣⠀
5. Cut apple into a medium dice.⁣⠀
6. Add the potatoes and apple to the pan with the peppers. Season with salt and pepper. ⁣⠀
7. Cook the ham however you please. Divide into 5 servings. ⁣⠀

To make the weight loss side swapped 10 eggs for 10 egg whites and cut the hash ingredients in half. To make the weight gain side I used 12 total eggs and doubled the ingredients for the hash. Obviously weight gain and weight loss will look different for everyone. This is just an example of what it could look like. ⁣⠀

❓What am I supposed to do with the yolks?⁣⠀
❗️If you’re really that worried about it just use liquid egg whites and bake them. You could always give them to your gf/bf/wife/husband/pet. You can save them to use in something else. You can throw them away. You can leave them in and cut back on something else in your diet. The options are endless. You don’t need my help to solve this problem. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made when we want to lose weight. Eating egg whites doesn’t sound fun to some people but it is a very easy way to cut out calories. ⁣⠀

❓5 half eggs x 5 servings is 25. 12 whole eggs/2 is only 24. Where is the extra half egg? ⁣⠀
❗️It doesn’t exist. Just make one with only 4. It all evens out by the end of the week. ⁣
