Vegan caramelized apple? tart, anyone?
.
Happy FriYay, my Insta friends?. Sending you some sweetness before the cold weekend. If you happen to have some apples lying around and a puff pastry, this dessert is for you!
.
Super simple with few ingredients, you can enjoy this as an after dinner snack or even breakfast tomorrow.?
.
Recipe:
~ 1 pastry sheet, thaw based on package instructions
~ 5 small?, thinly sliced, I left the skin on since they are organic
~ 1/4 cup brown sugar, plus 2 tbsp (separated)
~ 1 tsp cinnamon
~ 2 tbsp vegan butter
~ juice of 1/2 ?(I used Meyer ?)
.
Melt butter in a pan, add apple slices, toss until well coated. Add sugar and lemon juice, mix until sugar dissolves completely. Transfer?slices without the sugar mixture into a bowl and toss with cinnamon. Set aside. Shape your pastry sheets so it can hold up the? slices nicely.
Preheat oven to 400F, layer? slices and top with 2tbsp brown sugar. Bake until pastry sheet turn brown about 8-10mins. I broiled for another 2-3mins to get that brownish side. Remove and spoon some leftover sauce, top with ? zest and more cinnamon before serving.
.
This is not an overly sweet dessert and best paired with a cup of latte.? If you plan to make it or have questions, let me know??Have a great ?FriYay!
