✅Recipe (makes about 5-6 burgers): Using a potato masher, mash 1 cup cooked black beans (drained) until mostly smooth, leaving some whole beans remaining. ✅Make 1 chia egg: mix together 1 tbsp chia seeds with 3 tbsp water and let sit 5 minutes until gel- like. ✅Add to a large bowl: mashed black beans, chia egg, 2 medium carrots (grated), 1/2 small red onion (chopped), 1/3 cup oat (or all-purpose) flour, 1 tbsp tahini, 1-1/2 tsp soy sauce or tamari, 3/4 tsp chili powder, 3/4 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1/4 tsp black pepper, salt to taste. Mix well until fully incorporated. ✅Form into burgers the size of your buns. ✅Bake at 375F for 15 minutes. Flip burgers. Bake another 10 to 15 minutes until slightly crisp and browned on the outside. .
