Have you ever tried any Filipino food? Which ones? ?? speaking of Filipino food, Filipino cuisine isn’t the most vegan-friendly because a lot of our dishes are meat-based and even vegetable dishes often have meat and shrimp paste in it—so eating in Filipino restaurants can be very tricky. But of course being vegan didn’t stop me from still enjoying the Filipino dishes I grew up eating. I realized that Filipino dishes are more centered on the flavors of the sauces so I focused on that when making vegan versions of my favourites and found other counterparts to the meat that were usually used to cook with. This Filipino Sweet-Style Spaghetti is our take on the Italian Bolognese. It has a rich, sweet, and “meaty” tomato sauce topped with homemade vegan “Parmesan”—the sauce is usually made with ground meat but I of course made this version vegan, while still keeping the usual rich and sweet flavor that makes it very Filipino. ?

Anyway, this is one of the recipes in the “Filipino Favorites” section in my 95+ recipe Vegan Kitchen eBook! #TFTFeBook There are lot of other Asian-inspired recipes and comfort food too! And of course, I’m planting 2 trees for every sale of my eBook! Trees from sales made last September until this October will be planted in Haiti, Mindanao (in the Philippines), and in the Peruvian Amazon. ?
