Dreaming of this chili lime tofu bowl ✨ Whenever people tell me they don’t like tofu I recommend this recipe- It can be made in less than 15 minutes in a pan and stored in the fridge to use in bowls, sandwiches and wraps 🌿 I get tons of questions asking if soy is unhealthy, and the answer is NO. There’s so much research saying that eating soy at about 2-3 servings per day may actually help reduce risk of developing breast and prostate cancer, and may be beneficial for heart health. All those random headlines about soy raising estrogen? BS. Soy may have a very weak, estrogen like activity on certain parts of our bodies, like bones, but actually have an anti-estrogen like activity on reproductive tissue. Both of these are actually VERY good things! So enjoy your tofu, tempeh, edamame and soy milk and I’ll definitely enjoy mine 🙌🏼✨.
To make 👇🏼:
Drain from the package a block of extra firm tofu. Press with a clean cloth to remove some of the excess water. Slice into 1/4 inch slices. Whisk together 1 tbsp of garlic chili sauce, the juice of 1 lime, 1/2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp of maple syrup + 1 tsp dijon mustard (optional). Marinate the tofu in the mixture, coating both sides for at least 5 minutes. Pan fry for 5 minutes on each side and enjoy!
